Update on dog food...no go.

Won't touch the 4Health or Taste of the Wild. So, we're done spending a fortune on dog food. We're going back to Beneful. It seems to be the only thing she likes. Thank heavens, we only bought the small bags and they are gone now.

On the positive side, as long as she's not eating much, she might lose some weight. LOL

I've had the same problem with the "healthy" cat food - (canned). Mine prefer Friskies & Fancy Feast.

that wet food was better for them- I had always thought that dry food was better for their teeth, etc., but it turns out that cats naturally live on high amounts of protein and dry food is full of carbs and there is an epidemic of feline diabetes now. My sweet Curly Boy just passed away from that 5 months ago. :(

If you haven't tried Science Diet, do it!!! We bought it for our cat after using the cheap store foods and he pooped less, had way less hair balls and his coat was shiny, and he ate less because it wasn't full of fillers. Yes it is a more expensive brand, but we ended up spending way less on food just by buying that brand for the reason stated above. You can sign up at the Science Diet website also and you get coupons in the mail to help with some of the costs. Try one bag of it and you will notice a difference!!

We have 2 labs and a golden retriever who are all very picky about what they will eat. One of our labs has allergies and we went through changing the food and every one we tried, Taste of Wild, Natural Balance, etc., they absolutely wouldn't touch. We finally ending up trying the Eukanuba dry and they love it! And best of all one of our labs has lost 2 1/2 pounds and the other has lost 3 pounds - they were and still are way too heavy, but this is a step in the right direction I think.

DH would want to go through trying a different food again. He hates to see his baby not eat and have that sad, sad look on her face, pawing him because she doesn't like the food and wants something better.

The only other thing I can think of doing is making her human food (meats and veggies) without any seasonings that are detrimental, mixing it with a little dry food that she finds "okay." It would be easy to do this and she does love carrots, potatoes, and green beans although human food is not cheap either.

Our golden retriever is the pickiest of our dogs - he will turn his nose up sometimes at things we know he likes just because he doesn't want whatever it is at the particular moment - so when he dove into the Eukanuba we KNEW it was a big hit. I'm not sure what kind of dog yours is - but we use the Eukanuba Large Breed Adult Dry Labrador Retriever formula.

who also mopes when we call her fat (106 pounds), so we need to get her weight down, too.

ours are totally spoiled as well and are also well over 100 pounds. They go everywhere with us and pretty much rule the house. :)

Since this thread started last week, I ordered, received, and have been using e-cigs for 4 days. They're awesome. I've smoked since a teenager - before cigarettes were taboo. Did some more research on this and apparently Rep. Jose Serrano (D-NY) is simply a fanatic about repealing the 22nd amendment. He actually has tried this before (HJ Res. 5) back in 2009, so I'm guessing it'll get about as far this time as it did last time. Well, my legs and ankles are mostly normal now. I think I lost 10-15 pounds and took finally four Torsemide two morning and two in afternoon to do it. Yesterday I went for my repeat films after receiving a call last Monday concerning an area of concern. The possible nodule again was seen on yesterday's films. They did an ultrasound which did not pick it up. The radiologist said he does not think we are dealilng with anything serious, but has advised me to return in six months for repeat films. Yesterday Tiny received one dose of Lysodren, 1/4 pill. She actually vomited a few times the day before she ever received it. The vet said don't give her any dinner that night until her belly settles down, and then Wednesday give her the first dose. Well, I went Monday to my cardiologist and he put me on new diuretic. So far it works in the morning, but I swell in the afternoon and evening. If two once a day do not work, I have to take four (two twice a day) and two potassium. I just wish something would work.
