Pregnancy pics, ultrasounds of a baby?

Posted: Sep 3, 2013

My husband and I married for about a year. His niece is having a baby. I am happy for her but have only seen her twice and got invite to baby shower, out of state, couldn't go, ultrasound of her baby on the invite and yesterday got 52 pics of her pregnancy pictures. If she and spouse happy, good but people should realize not everyone cares about seeing pregnancy pictures and as far as ultrasound, that would be just like me looking at someone's xray that I don't even know and could not make heads or tails about it anyway. On vacation this summer saw 2 women in bikin's that were pregnant at the waterpark. Others looking did not have a look of how pretty that is but rather really?

Pregnancy - some are

If you don't want to look at the pictures, don't look at them. They are proud and happy and want to share their joy. If you don't want to share in that happiness, ignore the pictures.

As for being pregnant and wearing a bikini. Not everyone is uptight about the human body. I personally love seeing a pregnant woman who is sure of herself wearing a bikini. Why should she hide her bump, because it makes you feel uncomfortable? It is a perfectly natural thing.

Body is also a natural thing, but not - allowed to go naked?

[ In Reply To ..]
I was not uncomfortable, not embarrased either. I just think she looked out of place as I am sure others did because I watched their expression. Time and place for most things.

Out of place? - Why?

[ In Reply To ..]
Why did she look out of place? Because she had a belly and wore a bikini?

How did you expect her to be dressed at the beach?

Believe me I was not the only one there - and if you had seen the
[ In Reply To ..]
looks, then you would understand. Look out of place at a waterpark pregnant, going down the chutes, rides?
Pregnant - in a closet?
[ In Reply To ..]
Seriously? Because she was pregnant she wasn't allowed to enjoy herself? Wow, that is just beyond any words I can find.

Honey, I was pregnant and went surfing, snorkeling, bowling, played tennis, etc. I was active until the second I went into labor and all my children are happy and healthy.

Are you one of those people who thing pregnant women should stay at home and not be seen in public or what?

I am of a mind that I do what I want as long as it's legal.
Absolutely! Pregnant women must hide those massive bellies!! :) sm - Not bothered at all
[ In Reply To ..]
I am kidding. I totally agree with you! The OP must not have any kids. I'm guessing she's young. Time and reality of how short life is, and how many things really don't matter will eventually set in. Who cares if someone sends ultrasound pics others don't want or if pregnant women jaunt around in bikinis?? OP has to learn to live and let live. Others are not here to please you, they are here to live their own lives. Unless they are causing harm to someone else (no not your sense of aesthetics) then there is no reason to worry about what other people do.
It's too bad people weren't just happy to see - a pregnant woman enjoying
[ In Reply To ..]
her day, just like everyone else. I think most people see a pregnant woman and get a little sentimental or a feeling of happiness--seeing a pregnant woman is a happy thing.

Why anyone would turn their nose up at an expectant mother in a bikini at a water park is beyond me. Talk about snotty!

Just enjoy the day and be happy! Why is that so hard?!?
It sounds like she was having fun, and the - rest of you were...watching?
[ In Reply To ..]
Kind of strange. Were you all just looking at her and making these faces, or what? I'd say I feel sorry for her, but it sounds like she was too busy doing her own thing to worry about the bunch of sourpusses who were watching her. Get a life!
No, you all were not all just looking- did I not - say was watching others
[ In Reply To ..]
facial expressions. Sourpuss? I thought it looked pretty tacky and by the looks of others so did they.
BTW, both were walking in the food place, not enjoying much of anything, just walking.
I thought she was going down chutes and - on rides?
[ In Reply To ..]
Now I'm confused, because in another post you said: "Look out of place at a waterpark pregnant, going down the chutes, rides?"

Sorry, it still sounds like a bunch of women were standing around looking at her with some kind of "looks" on their faces. Yes, I would describe that as sourpuss. Then you felt the need to go on the internet and badmouth her? I find that much more tacky than a pregnant woman wearing a bikini at a water park.
That's what I read too!!! lol nm - Not bothered at all

That is exactly what I said, you know you have - to walk around a waterpark
[ In Reply To ..]
it surely does not come to you and yes, saw coming down the chutes and slides after seeing first in the cafe they had there.
I would think it would be dangerous ' - question her intelligence almost

mothers who insist on breastfeeding in public that creep me out. Seriously, a boob is a boob, whether your kid is attached or your significant other is grabbing it. Not appropriate for public viewing.

Breast feeding - BF mom here

[ In Reply To ..]
I was a breastfeeding mom and personally I did it wherever and whenever the need arose. Yes, in public. It's not like my boobs were out in full view, my child was suckling and usually a blanket or diaper draped over their head. My boobs were not out "for public viewing" but made available for my child to get nutrition.

Sorry, you are not going to send me to a dirty public bathroom to nurse my child. If you don't like it, don't look. The same thing I was told here when I said I don't like seeing ear gauges and face piercings when I go out to eat. Their choice, so why should I have a say? Same thing, my choice to breast feed so why should you have a say in what I do?

Why is everyone so creeped out about boobs? They are a body part, we all have them, and breast feeding is something that has been done since the beginning of man.

yeah, well - there is a place and time

[ In Reply To ..]
for everything. Most things regarding the naked body have been moralized in manners and etiquette books for quite some time. Just because morals have decreased does not mean that it is "okay" to publicly display all body parts just because "you want to." How would you feel if a male displayed his single body part in public, just because he wanted to? It is only "natural" to have to urinate, so why should he not be allowed to do that in public, as much as women can expose their body parts in public? as far as I know, if a male did it, it would be called "indecent exposure" and he could be arrested. Why is it okay for a woman and not a man??? Yes, the body is "natural", but I do not believe it was meant to be put on display for public viewing just because you do not want to be inconvenienced. unless, of course, you consider yourself an "art form." Naked - BF mom
[ In Reply To ..]
I was never naked when I bread fed in public. I never "exposed" myself. Shirts I wore buttoned down and like I said, I always had a blanket or diaper over the child's head, which for the most part, covered the child and any part of my boob that might have showed. Any one intently staring at me might have caught a glimpse of some skin...oh my!! I see people walking through the mall with more boob showing that I did when I breast fed and no one says anything to them.

It's not like we wave our boobs around when we breast feed, I have never seen a breast feeding mom just plop it out and start feeding without covering the head of their child and their breast.

Peeing and pooping is natural - Anon
[ In Reply To ..]
Some say that breastfeeding is "natural." Yeah? So is peeing and pooping - and not only for women - but nobody does it in public!!
People do pee and poo in public - especially in other countries
[ In Reply To ..]
But also in America. We are a complicated people with a multitude of opinions and what ties us together is that we all pee, poo, sweat....

Sorry if video offends anyone. I think it's funny.

Good for you. I'm not a mom and never - wanted to be, but

[ In Reply To ..]
I certainly understand breastfeeding in public. What exactly is the big deal?

Well, the pics would bore me, but not bother me. - No skin off my back.

[ In Reply To ..]
As far as pregnant women in bikinis, I don't think I would even think twice about it. Who cares? They're pregnant and in a bikini. I see overweight people in bikinis all the time. I don't care what other people are wearing. It doesn't register on my list of things that matter.

Everybody should just do what makes them happy. If there were more happy people in the world, there would be a lot less pettiness.

Yes! - Like 1000 times

[ In Reply To ..]
My thoughts exactly! People spend too much time worrying about what other people are doing.

well, if everyone should just do - what makes them happy

[ In Reply To ..]
then just do away with all the laws and law books, the justice system, and just let everybody do what they want, whenever they want....murder, abortion, rape...whatever makes them happy. That's just silly!

Oh, please. I was talking about within the realm - of the conversation.

[ In Reply To ..]
No need to get all dramatic. As if I would support rape and murder.

I hate when people take a statement where everyone knows what the person means, and then take it to another level as if they were a psychopath. We are talking about bikinis here. Not murder and rape.

I think digital photos make this all too easy now--sm - anon

The expected baby of course is a wonderful thing. The fact that they are excited about and will hopefully adore and cherish the baby is too, a wonderful thing. However, I think the culture has not adapted to this easy picture thing. It is not limited to pregnancy pictures but there are way too many "selfies" as well.

As far as pregnant in a bikini, I think people need to just adjust to that. To met it makes more sense because it would be easier (and probably cheaper) to get a 2 piece than paying for a maternity suit. I nursed 4 babies for between 1 to 2 years each and honestly, while it happened in public and people knew the baby was eating, they never really saw "the boob." I personally much prefer a mother feeding the baby than hearing the baby cry because it is hungry andknows the food is right there.

Bikinis when pregnant, ultrasound pics - so what? - Not bothered

[ In Reply To ..]
You must be young. If someone sends me something that I don't care about, I just ignore it. Doesn't bother me one bit. Why should it? No harm done. As far as pregnant women wearing bikinis - people are not on Earth to please you. They can wear whatever they are comfortable in. Unless they are walking around naked, really, get over it. They are probably mature enough not to care what everyone else thinks. There are waaaaayyyy too many other things to worry about in this lifetime than this petty stuff. I don't even see the point of you posting it at all. I'm only replying to try to get you to see that.

do you not have anything better to do? - here we go again...

[ In Reply To ..]
Maybe those 2 girls that you had this summer should come back and visit for the school year.. to keep you occupied.

i agree with you. My SIL is pregnant. she's already fat - and she showed her enormous 11 week

Think this goes along with others thinking - OP

[ In Reply To ..]
we are interested in seeing their pregnancy bellies and/or their ultrasounds. Like most now days, TMI. Family, nonfamily, strangers- I just do not care to see pictures you want to show me. Like obese females walking around in skin tight clothing with all their fat rolls everywhere and they think that looks good also I am guessing. Might as well start the circus side shows again.

Pregnancy Rant...SMJan 24, 2010
Ok...here we go... :-) I am currently just over 21 weeks pregnant and I couldn't be happier! However, I am having a very hard time taking people's "advice" gracefully. This is my first child and by no means do I know everything, but I am pretty well versed in the basics of pregnancy (I transcribe for an OB-GYN). It just seems like everybody I know has something to tell me about how I should be doing this, or I should be careful of this or I shouldn't be doing that. And on ...

New Pregnancy, Smoking Problem, Help!Jan 19, 2011
With my other non-MT job at Jewelry Televison if I don't smoke I really don't get a break.  I found out that I am pregnant and I am finding it so hard to kick the habit.  I deal with customer complaints all day on the phone and believe me I want to get away from the phones! and smoke!  I actually started smoking when I started the job a few months ago.  I have cut back where I don't smoke at home which is good for me.  Today I was so stressed out I actuall ...

Question Regarding Terminating A Cat's PregnancyAug 10, 2011
We have a cat we are going to take in tomorrow to get fixed.  She had kittens and now she is pregnant again (at least we think so because her sides are starting to bulge out).  There is no way we can have more kittens, and I won't have them suffer in a world where there are too many already and they might go hungry or get placed with bad people or whatever.  The questions is I'm trying to not think in human terms.  Has anyone ever had a cat fixed after they found sh ...

GOP US Senate Candidate Thinks Pregnancy From Rape Oct 23, 2012
it just so happens that a few hours before he revealed this in a state candidate debate forum, Mitt Romney voiced his support in a local ad release:  "There's so much at stake, I hope you'll join me in supporting Richard Mourdock for US Senate."  Until today, the race to replace Senator Lugar (who is not conservative enough to suit the Tea Party) was at a stalemate with Mourdock's democratic challenger, Joe Donnelly, having a hairline lead....despite obscene infusions of ...

Malkin Posts Inflammatory Phoney Pics Of TrayvonMar 26, 2012
Yesterday a right-leaning website called Twitchy ran a picture of George Zimmerman in a suit and tie next to what they claimed was a picture of Trayvon Martin with no shirt and sagging pants.  Twitchy is owned and operated by Michelle Malkin, a conservative pundit who is a frequent guest on Fox News. The picture of Zimmerman was real, but the picture of Martin was not.  IMO, they have sunk to an all-time low this time, falling all over themelves trying to discredit a dead teenager w ...

Baby Horse And MomJul 19, 2010

So Not Having Nursed A Baby I Have Got ToOct 07, 2015
Just saw where a lady was upset because she wanted to nurse her baby at an airport, wanted some privacy and was told she could get that in the bathroom. She did not want to do that, said germs and then the airline person suggested the pet room where apparently the animals go to use the bathroom, I think.
