Eric Garner in New York. Barkley says it is not a homicide, they were a little aggressive.
Watching the video, Garner says several times, "I can't breathe." They didn't let up. Involuntary manslaughter. People need to be held responsible for killing people. Policy of choke hold is outlawed there--question seems to be whether it was a choke hold or a take-down procedure.
I don't feel the end result of the incident was racist, but the beginning of the incident might be.
Also Barkely said sometimes racial profiling is right. ???? Yeah, I guess a whole lot of injustices might be right sometimes.
Good Point Barkley made is that racism should be talked about more, not just in crisis.
Seems we still have existing problem with those who profess that racism just doesn't exist. Hard to talk with people about something that doesn't exist for them.

[ In Reply To ..]this was a homicide. The police asked this man to be handcuffed, I saw the video. He refused. He was selling cigarettes illegally. He had 30 prior arrests, by the way. The police took him down as is their usual way when a person refuses to do what they say. This accident could have been avoided, had the guy done what the police asked. The guy overweight, heart condition (supposedly had a heart attack from this) and asthma. If I am asked by the police to be handcuffed, walk a straight line, whatever I am not going to refuse. Not every black person thinks the same way, i.e. homicide here or in Ferguson. Tired of people jumping on the bandwagon for what they term to be injustice because of skin color.

AS SOON AS YOU say, it is okay to SUSPECT/stop and detain MERELY because of race or even a clothing choice, it is racism and its wrong and its the sign of a society choosing fear over reason. Oh and so much for 'freedom' - innocent until proven guilty, and all that jazz.

I think of all of our military personnel who are in other parts of the world and who were not able to spend Thanksgiving with their families and who will not be sharing Christmas with them either; these heroes make sacrifices that some of us could not handle. Some in the black community should be thankful for what they have and how far they have come and think about people in the Middle East and Africa who are dying every day in their war-torn and disease-ridden countries. These pity-party individuals should quit being selfish and narcissistic.

Where is the outrage, or do most feel this is okay to promote this violence. If you don't like any of them, fine, we get it. I'm not wild about any of them myself. Don't watch and didn't vote for them, but where do we draw the line.
