Need to lose baby weight

I had a baby 2 years ago and I have not worked out a day since then (bad I know).  Now, with summer coming up, I need to tone up and get in shape.  Anyone have a good workout they can share to lose the baby weight.  I've got about 10 pounds to lose, which isn't bad, but I'm so out of shape and kind of puffy, no muscle!  I really don't want to join a gym as I have a treadmill and some weights but really have no idea what kind of workout to do.

Awesome workout and you will look amazing when you are done. The only downside is that it's about an hour a day.

It was hard to fit in an hour to an hour and a half a day to work out. I just ordered Jillian Michaels' Body Revolution, which are only 30-minute workouts. I like her style of doing cardio and strength together and working smaller muscles at the same time as large muscles, for example, doing lunges at the same time as bicep curls. You are able to work every muscle in a shorter amount of time that way.

Get rid of grains - it works for me

I stopped eating any grain - wheat, rice, oats, corn, etc. - on February 10 and I have lost almost 10 pounds without even thinking about it. I eat lots of salad and veggies and protein and fruit and dairy. I'm never hungry.

Grains elevate your insulin which gives you an appetite. They also contribute to puffiness and bloat.

You don't have to go completely grain free like I have, but I have some insulin resistance issues so for me it works.

Try it and see what happens, though. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

I have felt so much better since I took grains out of my diet a few weeks ago. I haven't seen any real weight loss yet because I am still shedding the water I had been retaining from before. The first few days were hard - everything I thought about had some grain product in it. I wanted to make beef stew and thought barley! I wanted to make some cream mushrooms and thought French bread! Oh, and I cut out gravy (including can soups) altogether, ouch. Yes, Paula Dean is my soulmate.

Really, though, eliminating grains and/or processed is a terrific way to feel better. If you feel better, you are more likely to be more active and do more exercise.

I like checking out different DVDs from the library. - P

It's a nice way to change the routines up. Plus, if a workout does not, well, work out, you did not waste your money. Like when I borrowed the belly dancing workout. LOL. Definitely not for me, but at least I tried it and it cost me nothing.

I had a total thyroidectomy 2 weeks ago. Started levothyroxine 112 mcg the day after. In the last 18 years, I've gained 45 pounds. I've taken phentermine twice (purchased on line), which worked very well. I also did the Atkins diet which worked well.
