self-checkout lines. I went into a McDonald's recently that had one of those kiosks. I just shook my head as I walked up to the worker behind the counter. I also don't own a smart phone, don't have a social media account and when people come to my house, they stay off their phones or they can leave.
Of course the study would show that because the world doesn't realize that we are being automated right out of jobs and actual human contact. It's a sad world we live in when I walk through a store and see a couple people apparently shopping together while they are on their phones checking out their social media or texting instead of talking to each other. The one that irks me is someone on the phone in the checkout line telling somebody they are at the store while holding up the line because they can't get their groceries on the counter because one hand is occupied with the phone telling somebody they are at the grocery store.
