There are several factors in this scenario, - but most of these stories

are pushing the "those poor companies have to pay their employees too much money."

We could also say big-wigs are making astronomical amounts of money and demanding more so that is driving employers to find ways to drive down labor costs. We all know the wage gap between workers and big-wigs has gotten to ridiculous levels so that could be part of why they are automating.

We could also say prices are going up on hamburgers that have less meat than they did years ago to increase their profits so the big-wigs and stockholders can make more money but we shouldn't pay employees more that make these hamburgers because it would cut into our profits.

To me, we all demand better and better technology so we got it. Though the other factors are true too, better technology demands also plays a big factor. We have basically "technologicalized" ourselves out of jobs (that sounded like a word GW might have said LOL). So next time you are driving your car that parks itself and demanding cars that drive themselves so you can use your $1000 phone to text your friend instead of actually talking to them, telling Alexis to turn on the TV or lights, maybe think about that.

We have to keep up with or be better than the rest of the world on technology because otherwise we will fall behind, which is also true. I see us heading to a world where Alexis tells us to get off our butts and turn the channel so she can watch what she wants to watch.
