It is simply not happening. If anything, pretty much everyone I know who voted for Trump regrets their vote and are seriously looking at voting for Democrats.
We are, after all, most of us, the middle class. You can argue until you're blue in the face about the wall, open borders, etc., but what I care about is the fact my job as an MT (this is an MT board and none of us actual MTs are in the 1% that I know of) has become obsolete much quicker than expected. This is due, I feel, to the deregulated labor market and whatever that tax law did for companies offshoring to make them want to outsource/offshore right here and take away even more pay, benefits, and, well, the guarantee that a job meant a certain amount of hours available, etc., etc.
Also, I am now faced with trying to get on the ACA since no more benefits. Well, already they have degraded the ACA so it has high premiums, ridiculous deductibles, and is just not even worth it, so thanks for that, Trumpcare. Where's your great health plan that's so cheap and everything is covered? Yeah right.
And sleazy slinking Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell are trying to drastically get cuts in to SS and Medicare. I don't know about you but I'm retiring in a few years and I do NOT want cuts to them. Again, Trump said no cuts, but here come the cuts. But he meant well, I guess. He has absolutely no accountability, he's like a blathering baby that his sycophants excuse for anything. Hardly presidential.
In addition to that, the horrible stuff which is happening at the borders where I guess Trump and his well paid henchmen do not see migrants as actual people, so who cares where they went, as long as his buddies are getting payment of $700+ per night for jailing them.
Need I go on? I could, which is sad. There is the fact that internationally he is a laughingstock and a dangerous one at that, trying to pull out of NATO and distancing us from Europe so he can cozy up to what should be our natural enemy, Putin, but of course Putin helped him get in so he must do what he's told.
Well, that's enough for now, but if you think you're going to sway anybody from Democrat to Republican, I really have not met anyone like that, nor would I like to frankly.
All I can say is I personally don't see this happening, so yes I think it is fake.
