I saw someone on TV lecturing about the need for "immigrants" to help with the economy and do the jobs that “Muricans” (his label, not mine) could not be bothered to do and that if I were to visit construction sites and restaurants on the East Side I’d see this but (as a reminder) to not ask about legal status.

In any event, this got me thinking that people of his mindset want all of these taxes and regulations and related programs that taxes directly and indirectly related to payroll and employees pay for, but have no problem with these people working under the table in the factories, restaurants, and construction sites and paying none of it.

That seems a great deal self defeating and contradictory to me.
