Why shouldn't people cheer? I don't have a stake in any of the countries playing, but I have family members (both by marriage and heritage) who are Hispanic and I'll root for their team. Who cares? It's a game, just like football or baseball. Should we give soccer and the Mexican team (or any other national team) more credence than we do home-based professional games? I'd rather spend my energy on happenings on U.S. soil.
