I just started the keto diet a week and a half ago... lost 3 pounds the first week (haven't weighed in yet this week). The low-carb helps more than just diabetes. Watch The Magic Pill on Netflix to learn more and see health results.
I never thought I would go on a low-carb diet. I love pasta, bread, potatoes! But I've been finding some great substitutions online. Like cauliflower "mashed potatoes," using coconut or almond flour instead of regular flour. I actually made a quiche for the first time in my life this week.... looking forward to breakfast all week because it's so yummy! Making my own salad dressings, fresh and tasty!
I don't have diabetes; in fact, I only need to lose about 20 pounds. But I feel so much better after dinner and I have more energy. I've never been much into cooking... but I'm actually having fun trying new recipes because everything tastes great! My plate is much more colorful and healthy-looking than the junk I was eating before.
