I don't know about not acting alone, but he killed an American presidential candidate and he should have been executed years ago.
The only reason he has not been executed is because of a California Supreme Court’s decision which ruled capital punishment is a violation of the California Constitution’s prohibition of cruel or unusual punishment. It was based on a California Supreme Court case and the decision was retroactive, invalidating all prior death sentences imposed in California. That's how Charles Manson escaped the death penalty.
