Seems like a radical idea to break up a state, - mt

but didn't West Virginia break away from Virginia a long time ago?

If this would happen that Calif would break up, I wonder if it would seem more possible for states to actually secede from the union. Some may feel they want to escape possible tyranny.

I think there might be a fiction book out about Vermont seceding from the union. Someone must be thinking along these lines.
