my aunt Becky introduced her son's live-in - alimony

at a large family gathering, my grandmother's birthday which was always a family reunion, as her shack-in-law. My aunt is hilarious. She is always joking, telling jokes, funny stories most of them true.

I called my insurance company once and I got to talking to the CSR and went into my rant of why don't women get married anymore. Clearly, they should be taught a couple of things in high school. 1. You have to be married 8 years to get alimony. 2. You have to be married 10 years to draw your husband's Social Security (if you are divorced and not currently married). men get paid more than women for doing the same jobs, men get paid more than women, okay. Their SS is going to be more... probably. She did not know this. I'm like why are gay ppl wanting the protections granted to married couples? Pretty soon, those will be the only ppl getting married. The CSR told me that she has a boyfriend and he told her he would stay with her forever but would never marry her. I told her that was hard to believe since married ppl don't stay together forever unless they have a lot of stuff and realize they'll lose half of it if they split up. Anyway, she was rethinking about not getting married after hearing about the social security, the alimony IDK, you have to show that you gave up a career or money to take on the duties of wife, but women do. Their job is never as important as the man's and they still have all the wifely/motherly stuff to do, too. My dad used to say, "Why by a cow when milk is for free."

When I divorced I refused to parade a string of men through my house. I didn't want my kids to think that was the way it was supposed to be or at least get that from home. what the world shows them I have no control over. But some kids have no stability at all and get exposed to the worst kinds of ppl. It changes more and more every year. I don't know where it is going to end up, either.
