What is so weird about falling on those steps? When I got my new bifocals, my depth perception was so off that I fell when getting off the doctor's exam table. I have a hard time judging depth of steps, curbs, etc.
Also, I have osteoarthritis in my knees and going down steps can be very "iffy". I never am really sure when my knee will give out going down. Going up steps is no problem.
