Recipe suggestions needed - dried navy beans - bad cook

I'm making a crock pot of beans (small white beans). Anyone have any suggestions as to what to add. I've got an onion and I've got these little smoked weiner (weaner?) things. Thought that might give it a smoky flavor. I've got a can of tomatoes. Do you think that would taste good in it? I've also got some frozen shredded carrots. Not sure if that would taste good. What about spices?

Any suggestions would be helpful.
