The Torah might help. It's interesting Elohim is actually - plural. This is another name for God.

YVWH (Yahweh) and I AM THAT I AM, the source of all knowledge.

Elohim is used when talking about the beginning and creation, and Yahweh is used when talking about God's relationship with Israel and humanity.

The Word (Jesus) was made flesh and dwelt among us. Notice the Word is capitalized. Jesus is the Word of God, bringing his message.
