The 'net and public schools are to blame - InPart

Posted: Feb 12th, 2018 - 11:53 am In Reply to:

It all began with "self-esteem building" in public education. They started giving out "trophies for participation" to the losers so as to not "hurt anyone's feelings." All that did was degrade the accomplishments of those who truly worked hard to excel. Now everyone is a "winner," even the losers.

Then came the Internet with all of the forums, message boards, etc. This message was, "Your opinion counts (is valuable). Make your voice heard!" Now every Tom, Dick, and Harry believes that he is just as qualified as anyone else to opine on subjects he knows ZERO about.

FACT: The net turned us away from voicing our concerns and gripes in a true public fashion. Now everything is "channeled" onto websites, literally.
