The Bible is the Word of God. It does not contain "nuggets" of truth. It IS truth. It is essentially a love letter from God to us human beings, culminating in the accomplished work of God reconciling man to Himself through the death and resurrection of His Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. By the way, Christianity is unique is that respect. We don't effect our own salvation or sanctification - only God can do and does do that.
If we seek to understand God's Word, He is faithful to send the Holy Spirit to be our interpreter.
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths." Proverbs 3:5-6
