Our snowbird renters have to return to Kansas, - and they are very concerned

that the only acute care medical clinic within a half hour of their nice rural small town will be closed down. He has a condition that requires monitoring to keep controlled.

Thing is, the Republican controlled state government doesn't want to budget to keep it open (something about not enough money), and only national taxpayer dollars have been keeping it open.

I mention that because clinics and also hospitals in many of America's "heartland" towns and cities are in danger of closing if you "win." Of course, the more red the state, the more its good people tend to be threatened.

Without adequate healthcare, ladies, more people will need to sell and move, only no one will want to move to neighborhoods and towns without basic healthcare. Housing prices will drop, only poor renters without better choices will be willing to live there, more businesses will be in yet more trouble, the tax base, already in critical decline will shrink further, and with that will go the dreams of others for their own futures.

Did I mention that these endangered clinics and small hospitals are employers? Hospitals especially are major employers that keep whole counties afloat.

Have you checked the financial health of your local clinics and hospitals?

You really should be at least secretly hoping the GOP is forced to compromise its plans to fund some of the critical services you need that it currently has no plans to do.

And particularly, it would be unwise to continue to depend on Democrats to protect you from the people you elected. We're trying our best, but right now we mostly can't.
