We are DEvolving, not Evolving - MaryJane Posted: Jan 13th, 2018 - 12:38 am
One of my hobbies is armchair research, especially anthropology and a few other disciplines.
I just finished reading an eye-opening journal article about the realities of tribal life that Margaret Mead glossed over or completely omitted -- you know, things like gang rape. It turns out that these cultures are much more violent than they've depicted.
The article I read was about childhood sexual abuse, committed by siblings, fathers, other family members, but. most disturbingly, mothers. I won't go into all the scenarios described. Suffice it to say it was sickening. Additionally, abortion and infanticide were described.
I watched several videos of some of these primitive tribal cultures. All had tattoos and piercings.
So, let's review --
Abortion -- Check
Sexual abuse of children -- Check
Tattoos -- Check
Piercings -- Check
It's notable that none of those on the list were acceptable or rampant just a few decades ago. (Childhood sex abuse has always occurred but was usually covert.) The only thing missing is infanticide. Maybe that's coming down the pike.
If you ask me, we are behaving more and more tribal, and that is NOT a good thing.
