Sad to say down in Alabama they were doing that 40 years ago. I saw older women agreeing with them! I would have to slap my mother silly if she said something like that. Older women down there were used to the "women should be barefoot and pregnant" sort of mentality and accepting it. Hopefully there are enough of the younger generation that know this kind of thinking is wrong.
