This campaign ad has to be a joke - Right? sm Posted: Dec 1st, 2017 - 3:42 pm
First of all, it seems overly specific:
"when choosing Michigan’s next Attorney General, ask yourself this. Who can you trust most not to show your their penis in a professional setting?"
In a professional setting? Generally speaking, I'm opposed to seeing penises in a variety of settings. Who can I trust not to show me their penis at... oh, I don't know... A picnic? A grocery store? A traffic stop? A state fair? When riding in an Uber?
I don't think I'm a prude. But I'll have to rely on my liberal friends here to set me straight.
Second, how do we square this with the whole transgender thing? In other words, if someone who identifies as a female shows you her penis have you been sexually assaulted? What if someone who identifies as a female shows you her penis in a non-professional setting, like a transgender bathroom? Does that count? It's not a professional setting.
Third, isn't it considered bad taste to use traumatic experiences like this in a campaign slogan?
