Sadly, my friend has been having mental problems for quite some time. She has crying spells, panic attacks, and her short term memory is about gone. I am seeing changes in her every week. Tomorrow she is scheduled to undergo extensive testing, and she is terrified. She knows she is having problems and fears the diagnosis. She and her husband are close friends of mine. Her husband was for a long time in denial, although she has been on several medications and sees a psychiatrist and counseling over several years. He attributes the changes in her and the memory loss to medications. I am around my friend several times a week, and something is terribly wrong. Has anyone known of psychiatric meds having this profound effect on the mind? She has asked her PCP and her psychiatrist multiple times to pull some of the meds, but they won't. They say what she is on can't cause these problems. Any input would be appreciated. I love her dearly and if there is anything that could help, I pray that will happen after the testing tomorrow. Thanks.
