Yes, I know a few people who have used online dating. My daughter met her boyfriend on Tinder of all places. They are now getting married. The whole family loves him. She did have to go through some bad matches at first so it wasn't a quick process. Now, I'm dating myself, but I met my husband through a dating service (before there was internet dating). We met, saw each other every day after that first meeting, were engaged after three months and married 27 years. Good luck. It's hard out there. And of course, you know, be very careful.
