Analogy my const law prof gave. - Paralegal

This is the analogy my const law prof gave. It has been used in law for decades.

If I buy an engine car, three transport cars, and a caboose, I have a train.

If I later add a coal car and a lumber car and attach them, the train got longer but (a) It is still a train; and (2) Those care are part of the train. They just serve specialized functions.
