and then just keep doing the roots with this demi (choosing a color slightly lighter than you are hoping for, such as maybe a dark blonde/light brown in a neutral color,which covers gray better). Keep using it on the regrowth until it's all grown out. You may find you like the demi; it's much gentler on your hair than permanent color. If you still want to just let it go gray, just stop using the demi, it will all fade away a little less conspiciously. But make sure you wait until all the previously permanently colored hair is trimmed off.
