Wow. What a shame. Here are some - PossibleAlts

I am so sorry to hear your story. I wonder if this is the real reason behind all the hype -- so insurance companies can provide even fewer benefits?

ETOH is probably the worst thing you can do if you want to sleep. It is highly toxic and hard on the adrenals. While initially it will relax you and help you fall asleep, it is not good for keeping you asleep.

There are lot of natural helpers that can assist with sleep. Exercising in the morning will help, as will warm/hot baths at night, darkening the room, meditation CDs (many good meditation videos on YouTube for free), etc. Reading is an oldie but goodie. Eating foods high in L-tryptophan (turkey, dairy, pasta, etc.) for dinner or snack at night will help.

There are supplements that help, too, and they are better for you than ETOH. Herbals like Sleepytime Tea (chamomile), aminos like L-tryptophan (NO, IT IS NOT BANNED! That was years ago!), melatonin, calcium, specialized sleep formulas like Power to Sleep, Benadryl, etc.

I hope things work out for you! Take care.
