a pants on fire for his statement that stricter gun control measures might have caused hundreds more deaths.
What we know is that a nut had a gun that shouldn't have had a gun and killed many and injured many. Now had Trump said stricter gun control measures would not have prevented this nut from doing this, I would agree. What I would suggest is to find out why the error was made by the military and the information that would have kept this nut from getting a gun in the first place would have been there so he would have not gotten the guns. What we need is better guidance/control on getting this information where it needs to be.
Unless Trump knows something about the gentleman who pulled his gun and prevented several more deaths that we don't know, like he shouldn't have had a gun for some reason, then his statement is untrue. The gun laws that we have allow honest, nonviolent people to own guns.
He says we have a mental health issue in this country. Hey, I agree with him. I am just wondering why he didn't work on the previous administrations plan about preventing some mentally ill people from owning guns instead of just dismissing it. If he had been smart, he would work with Congress to come up with reasonable rules that would prevent certain people from owning guns.
As a believer in the second amendment, I think bump stocks and assault type weapons have no business in anyone's home. I believe dangerous nuts shouldn't own guns. I believe we need to work on bettering our resources on how background checks are done so people who shouldn't have guns don't end up with them.
