Too many relative terms, such as "decent" fixed wage - sm

We have a federal minimum wage that makes no sense. How is it even determined? One of the criteria can't be the cost of living, because no one can live on it. Are the same people who determine what the minimum wage is going to determine what is a "decent" fixed wage?

This idea sounds like fertile ground for eventual government-sponsored slavery. What else can you call a system in which someone is busting their ass at a government job, but not making enough money on which to live? Please spare me the argument that in the absence of such jobs some people would earn no money. Don't be fooled:
ELR is not designed to help out the unemployed. Its achieved goal would be super-cheap labor at the cost of exploiting people who have absolutely no power.
