I love Roku - Another cord cutter Posted: Oct 15th, 2017 - 8:44 pm In Reply to: Get a - ROKU
I have Starz and HBO but have tried the others. I had Netflix for quite a while but don't think they are as good as they used to be. Also, if you have Pandora you can stream music to your TV. There are free channels but of course most of them are ad-supported. I like Tubi TV for movies but they do run ads. I liked Hulu but it buffers too much on my TV and I have a fast connection. The only caveat is that those subscription channels add up fast so you have to be careful or you end up paying more than cable. Not to knock Amazon but I have never liked how you have to subscribe to Prime to have access to the other channels when they are all available as stand alone services without the extra subscription. I don't shop on line very much so for me it doesn't really pay but I know a lot of people like it. Prime Music is really limited unless you pay for the premium service. Anyway, the Roku boxes are awesome. I don't have access to local channels but use the PBS app for the news, they even have some of the same shows that are on Amazon (Victoria, The Collection).
