Lesson in capitalism - for socialists sm Posted: Oct 13th, 2017 - 11:58 am In Reply to: People didn't lose their insurance, they lost - plans that didn't fit into
We live in a free market economy in a republic. State governors are free to do what they believe is best. They don't have to accept subsidies from the federal government. (Which I get may be a new thought. Has a Democrat governor ever NOT accepted a subsidy from the Feds? Not that I can think of. No they threaten to sue the Fed so they can keep taking money to support their programs that don't work. See California becoming a sanctuary state and daring the Fed to stop giving them money.)
People shouldn't be forced to buy a product they don't want or need.
I find it hard to blame people who decided to do nothing in that situation. Since you don't have a problem assigning blame here, maybe you could tell us what other industries we should be subsidizing. Should we all be forced to buy new homes, or new cars, or new TVs?
