YOU alone do not define what America stands for. I am not a Dem but I would like to state my thoughts on your post, which is not a tactic. I no longer believe a moment of silence and flying flags 10 feet lower is a sign of respect for the tens of thousands of victims, and their families, in this country is a show of respect. IT IS PURE NEGLIGENCE. Had 1 Muslim terrorist gunned down those people in LV, we would have invested unlimited funds and changed whatever laws necessary to prevent it from happening again. Because it was a white American with no criminal history, known grudges, or known mental illness, absolutely NOTHING will be done. Studies show that 80 to 90% of people in this country are all for gun CONTROL, even NRA members. So what does this tell you. Think about it. We the people should decide what Americans stand for. We who are law abiding citizens, contribute to our communities, are members of the military, and pay taxes just like you should feel free and safe in our own homes. That is hard to do when you know your neighbor down the street has a whole arsenal of weapons that have ONE purpose and one purpose only, to mow down as many people as possible as fast as possible. I am all for the second amendment, but do not believe it should be left alone as it stands. The supreme court has already stated they have the right to dictate what type of weapons we have. What is keeping them from making that distinction. Hmmmm, wonder how much $$ NRA contributed to the 2016 public election?
Surprisingly, your statement "leave the second amendment alone," means you are actually of the minority opinion regarding this issue. As far as "people hating all America stands for," I say this is America and our first amendment right to speak in opposition is just as important as your second amendment, and THAT is what American stands for. So YOU feel free to pack your bags and move any time, any where. When someone's gun rights infringe upon life and pursuit of happiness, IT IS THE APPROPRIATE TIME FOR THIS DISCUSSION. Ask all of the family members of this tragedy if they think it is time.

But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government, and to provide new guards for their future security.
