You are thinking bulk ammo. Don't think that way. That's the problem. Since he was preparing for at least months, he didn't buy his ammo in bulk. A little at a time. Same with his guns. If he had, it would have set off a red flag. There's more than one place that you can buy guns and ammo. He probably went to hundreds of places to collect his weapons an ammo. After all, owning 3 homes in 3 different places and even living in Alaska for a while probably had residency in those 3 places.

Doesn't Passing background checks put your name in a database? I would think so, since they have to go through a national database to make sure they're not a criminal or mentally ill, don't they?

BTW, he wasn't mentally ill. I doubt he could have done all this planning and hoarding of all his weapons if he was and his brother stated he wasn't (but then again, what do we know? His brother may be hiding that fact.)

This man wasn't dumb. He was smart. Mentally ill people usually don't see far in the future, only in the present or past.
