This is why I homeschooled. - The quality of teacher training has nosedived

I used to think institutional teaching suffered because the teachers were told what to teach and how to teach it with little leeway for creativity and ingenuity.

After reading this and other news about the things that are happening in schools, I am starting to believe that the administrations are constraining teachers and more because the quality of teachers and their ability to make good choices is getting progressively more questionable.

In this case, the teacher not only showed a lack of good judgement, but she is a hypocrite as well. If she believes that one should not stand then why would she stand and yet not believe in it. Coward and hypocrite. And to allow the others to abuse the ones who did is inexcusable. But to go a step further and cast approval on that behavior by reading the newspaper and putting forward her beliefs as well is sickening.

She is exactly why I homeschooled and wanted to give my children a balanced and honest (not textbook) education on history and the real, not tidied up and sanitized for snowflakes, realities of the historical/cultural events.

I hear from my college children about how the other students cannot put together a coherent sentence or formulate a cohesive essay or manage their time and it makes me cringe for our future.
