You say they are not the only ones to have been mistreated, and their mistreatment ended 152 years ago. Time to get over it? This is about the most uninformed post I have ever read here. I am from the south. Have you ever read up on conditions for blacks when slavery ended? Do you know anything about Martin Luther King or his cause. Do you know anything about Brown versus the Board of Education. Did you have any ideas about segregation and integration. The problem did not end when slavery was made illegal, and it does continue today.
As well, I do not consider someone taking a knee and not saying a word as acting like a thug. If you protested something, should someone tell you to stop whining and complaining and be more accepting. Sounds like the confederates, white supremacy, and the KKK's rights and freedom of speech were very important in Charlottesville. As far as I am concerned, a German flag with Swatstaka (sp?) or the Confederate flag shows disrespect to everyone in this country, oh but they had the right to freedom of speech. Sounds like everyone has the right to freedom of protest and speech except black people.
Their bad treatment ended 152 years ago? People like you are why they are doing this.
