Hmmm, where have we heard that before?
I haven't read one thing about this sad incident, and even if what I'm about to write does not apply here, it will apply somewhere.
Refugees should be sheltered in place in their own country. That is where they belong--with their family, friends and culture.
I personally would not be able to assimilate if someone plopped me down in the middle of Senegal, Vanuatu or anywhere and expected me to be a part of their culture. I couldn't do it. I don't think my family could either.
Before someone tries to play the race card, I am not a racist. I am simply saying I could not assimilate in a country that was so vastly different from my homeland.
