The Red Cross is ALWAYS there. They are always there first whether it be a small individual event or large-scale events like hurricanes, earthquakes, fires, etc.
I remember giving money after 9/11 to the telethon or whatever it was. I didn't have a lot to spare, but then to find out my hard-earned money went into someone's pockets was just so hurtful. I have been more careful since then.
