I was acquainted with a retired NASA engineer who moved about as far inland and north in these continental United States as possible. He built a shelter that he calculates will withstand at least 300 mph winds. 15 years ago I thought perhaps he was somewhat of a kook--now I am wondering if he built it strong enough.
