I believe we expect too much from Trump. He isn't cut out to be a president, at least not the kind of president this nation wants and deserves. Any issue that doesn't go his way is either someone else's fault or "fake news." "Fake news" as far as Trump is concerned, is news that doesn't present him in a positive way. He's incapable of accepting even positive feedback on any issue because to him, that means he's somehow wrong, and he's never going to accept that he could be wrong about anything. He is rarely appropriate with anything he says, and I'm not even going to comment on his tweets. The only thing he wants to do is attend campaign type rallies where he knows his base will still cheer him on. I'll continue to hold on to the hope that his handlers will rein him in and not let him do too much damage. I'm not sure what else could be done, but I'll still rely on those close to him who have a touch of common sense and know how to handle him. What other choice do we have?
I had made up my mind that I was going to vote for Trump in the beginning because I agreed with much of what he said, especially about illegal immigrants. I overlooked his obnoxious and vulgar personality but the more I heard from him, the less I was inclined to give him my vote, and now I'm so glad I did't vote for him. I hope we have better luck with the next election and can elect someone who not only wants to be president but who is also capable of doing it with at least a little bit of dignity.
Regardless, I believe Pence would do so much better than this man-baby we elected. It's only been a few months since he took office, but it seems as if it's been years.
Of course, we didn't exactly have stellar candidates to choose from but my God, what did we do to deserve the choices we did have? So, IMHO, I won't be expecting much from Trump because he simply can't help who he is and doesn't believe he needs to change one thing about himself. I pray we have better choices next time, though I won't hold my breath.
