Make American Hate Again?

Any American with any shred of decency should be shamed, embarrassed, and disgusted to have this poor excuse of a human being as President of the United States.  Blaming those who protest against white supremacists for the violence is like blaming the Jews for violence in resisting the Nazis.

Just awful! I have been inundated with messages from...sm - VTMT

friends here in the U.S. and around the world who are dismayed. The Friday night torch parade with chants of "Jews will not replace us" and "blood and soil" were the most offensive until yesterday's Trump press conference.

I have relatives in other countries who won't - even talk to me anymore. I think -

they're disgusted with the US, and don't want to associate with me because I'm an American. Although it makes me sad, I sure can't blame them. :(

Sounds like you have some really ignorant relatives. - Good riddance

I wouldn't want to associate with them anyway, if they are that stupid. Honestly, not wanting to associate with you because of stupid crap that you have nothing to do with? That is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. You're either making it up, or your family needs to cleanse the gene pool.

I think the real nazis are actually the people - mt

Nope. Real nazis are the ones with the torches - hawtmk

On the other hand, the nazis behind CNN are all powerful and very insidious. Plus they have their media propaganda going 24/7/365.

I had always thought that we have free speech no matter how wrong our ideas might be. This nazi group requested a permit and got it.

If another group, that claims to have the right ideas and good moral character, physically attacks the nazi group, it seems to me that they are to be blamed for the attack.

I think this whole thing was set up by the nazis who are behind CNN so that they could try to present themselves as moral, which they are not.
Another group - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
that claims to have right ideas and good morals? So you're just fine and dandy with the hate group of neo-nazis, KKK and white supremacists who were armed and dangerous, simply because they had a permit? They're an evil group who has no place in this country, people are going to stand up to them as they should. What about the man who ran over and killed a woman who was doing nothing more than walking? CNN's fault too? LOL, oh that's right, you believe infowars and breibart no doubt. Your thought process is just so............yeah, there are no words.
You are the one with the wrong thought process. - mt

People have the right to protest even if they have bad ideas, and they received a permit.

You and CNN are saying that they should not have been allowed to gather and protest because their ideas are evil. What is the law on this?

According to you and CNN, another group, a leftist group, has the right to physically attack them.

This is what you are saying.

Also, from what I heard, in the community of Charlottesville they are allowed to carry guns, so that was not against the law.

Well then - sm

nothing is left to be said. You have your views, I have mine. You won't change mine and I'm not changing yours. You keep reading breitbart and infowars and listening to glenn beck (good Lord) and fill your mind up with anything you want to believe. I am perfectly fine with the white supremacists getting everything and anything they get. They're despicable and shouldn't even be relevant, but when you have a president who's loved by david duke, this kind of stuff is going to keep happening. It's a shame an innocent woman was killed by a neo-nazi madman, but hey it's all good, they had a permit, which they didn't even adhere to. Just another example of despicable.
That's probably better than having - no thought process at all.

White supremacists did not do what they agreed to do. - per police chief and mayor
[ In Reply To ..]
When the white supremacists were granted their permit, they agreed to enter Emancipation Park in Charlottesville at a certain time at a certain place and to remain there. They agreed this would avoid violence and agreed to do it. There were many clips on our local station of some members of the group parading through the streets of Charlottesville singing anti-Jewish chants. They were armed and wore protection. Some wore white hoods. No one bothered them. One stated, "Yes, I am armed, yes, I am violent, and I hope to learn to become more violent." This is not fake news, there are actual film clips of all of this. Come the day of the demonstration/rally on Saturday, they surrounded the park, entered from everywhere, mixing with the left group that were there to protest. They did not do what they agreed to do. The police DID NOT stand down. They were all scattered and intermixed and it was impossible to come between them because the white supremacist group did not do what they agreed to do. And then they want to claim they were attacked for no reason. Pfftt. It was very clear they instigated this.

This same group requested a permit in Richmond, our city 45 minutes from Charlottesville, for this same type of rally on 09/13. It was granted, but has since been canceled/denied, stating safety concerns. Now, every locality can deny them a permit since so many were injured and a person died. Sue away!! Governor states if they show up anyway they will be arrested. We have a street called Moment Avenue where they want to meet, and it is full of statues, however they were erected on private property donated to the State and paid for with private funds (BTW, there is also a statue of Arthur Ashe, black man, on Monument Avenue). The City is considering making the whole of Monument Avenue a landmark. Many do not want the statues removed.

I am not for either side, but when you want to protest, demonstrate, or rally for any reason, once you become violent you no longer have any credibility and your point is lost on everyone.
I am from Richmond where they intend to come in Sept - logical thinking. sm
[ In Reply To ..]
The City of Richmond is very close to Charlottesville and within our city limits, the black population is much, much greater than Charlottesville, which is a small town. There is a very large BLM presence here, although there has never been any violence at their demonstrations, rallies, protests.

Logical thinking would conclude that when white people show up in white hoods there is going to be violence. These people are not totally innocent in doing this, even if in some cases it is their right. I would call it inciting a riot. Therefore our city is completely just in not allowing them to protest or rally here. Common sense. And it is legal for city officials to refuse them now that people have been injured or killed. There is no doubt that in Richmond the death toll would be much higher.

What in the world are you talking about? - Agenda 21?????

[ In Reply To ..]
I had to look that one up to see what in the world it was. Seriously, a Glen Beck book and right-wing propaganda. No wonder our country is messed up. It's really scary that people rely on this garbage to come up with their conspiracy theories.

[ In Reply To ..]
How can you compare the two, they are completely different.

The "left" went to the rally for what reason? Did they apply for a permit? Why did they bring clubs and sticks to the rally? Their entire intention was to create havoc and entice a riot. Nothing more.

If they ignored the rally it would we would not be talking about it today and every day since it happened.

You don't have to like what they stand for but they were obeying the law and had every right under the constitution to march. It's called tolerance and we need more of that. Just because I don't like the same things you like doesn't mean you are wrong or I am wrong, it just means we have 2 different ideas and both should be okay to express their beliefs and ideas no matter how repulsive you may find them.

ruckus so that CNN would have something to bash Trump with and go on and on and on. I think the Russia thing is dying out. They needed to move on from that.

Also, it is the place of law enforcement to take over if there is a problem. It is not the place of a left wing group with clubs.

Exactly, but the Liberal Fascists are so blinded by thier - own hatred, they cannot reason

through to that conclusion.

Umm, CNN did not - put the words

[ In Reply To ..]
that came out of Trump's mouth on Saturday or yesterday - now someone in the White House obviously made him say the words on Monday from the teleprompter - you could see him choking on them to get them out. CNN only bashes what Trump himself does and says - not their fault he does it! Yes it is the place of law enforcement to take over if there is a problem According to the law enforcement there, the KKK nasties did not do what they promised to do and enter the park from a different entrance or stay where they were supposed to. They were looking for a fight, like they always do! Oh, and the "left wing" group did not run them over - even though the probably deserved it!
You just can't argue with ignorance. Trump's - people will follow him right off a cliff.

To answer your question, the counter-protesters - did have a permit and

[ In Reply To ..]
they were mostly all locals. This was their town and they had a right to protest this hateful group marching through their town with a hateful message. The Nazi's on the other hand did not have a permit the first night they marched with the torches.
