Stop telling us we have to pretend men are women and women are men

Posted: Aug 5, 2017

I have a lot of compassion for anyone who struggles with the biological gender with which they're born.  I can't imagine how confusing or painful that is.  However, I will NOT say you are a man when you're a woman or vice versa.  This asinine legislation about the bathrooms does not make sense.

Whatever your feeling is about this issue, ask yourself what is true.  Because the truth may be distasteful to someone does not make it untrue.  If you struggle with your biological gender, you have a problem.  The solution to that problem is not to make the rest of society agree with your inability to accept the DNA with which you were born.

TRUTH.

If you use "gender" when the correct term is SEX, you are part of the problem. - Reader

There are only TWO SEXES in humans: Male (XY) and female (XX).

Gender relates to language (masculine, feminine, and neuter in Romance languages). More recently, the term has been co-opted to designate a SOCIAL construct.

Ergo, SEX relates to chromosomes. Gender does not. That is why you will never hear "gender" uttered in a biology class.

By using THEIR nomenclature, you are contributing to the problem.

So there are people who are confused about their SEX - sm

and want the rest of the world to play along with their delusion, and you're playing SEMANTICS? You knew, as well as everyone else, exactly what I meant. By all means, though, let's go off on an inconsequential tangent because the nomenclature is the real problem, right?

Butthurt much? :) - Reader

Yes, it is SEX.

Glad you got it now. :)

And, in this case, YES nomenclature DOES matter. Again, if you are using their language you are part of the problem.
You're throwing around red herrings. - sm

Try looking at the actual problem instead of creating more problems. I know it takes a little courage and wisdom, but I bet you can do it if you try.

If your butt hurts, get thee to a proctologist. :)

The correct term is sex, but gender as an identifier of sex - is recent. Substituting the word

[ In Reply To ..]
gender for sex is a recent concept intended to serve political expediency.

I don't play the game either, but I knew the point the OP was making.

This is what 'a lot of compassion' sounds like? No wonder this world is in such bad shape - :(

[ In Reply To ..]
Guess what? You don't have to DO anything. No one is going to force you to be a considerate person, respectful of others. In fact, this isn't even about YOU. Isn't that so strange? You can barely understand, I know, so let me put it like this: Calm down and find a nice cool drink to rest against your forehead. Because you need to

CHILL.

What does compassion look like to you? - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
Lying and saying someone is something they're not?

By the way, it does affect me. Public bathrooms that are designated for women should be used by women, not by men who feel like they're women.

I do understand only too well. I understand that you don't realize you can be respectful and considerate without being cowed into swallowing a lie and then coughing it up and claiming it's the truth. Don't be afraid. The truth will set you free.

If they would stop the urge to peek in the - Bathroom stalls

[ In Reply To ..]
And compare clothes and hairstyles....otherwise mind their own business...they would never know who is in the bathroom to begin with. Biology 101...the body produces waste...society 101...we collect that waste in a sanitary manner and dispose of it.

We are living in a bizarro world. Everything is being - sexualized and exploited and

[ In Reply To ..]
used for political gain.

Take a look at the Cleveland Clinic in Las Vegas. A postmodernism example of architecture. Every time I see this I think of what society has become.

Denial of gender reality. To say there is only 2 genders, sex or whatever - you want to call it, today constitute "hate

[ In Reply To ..]
speech"

Mental illnesses such as gender dysphoria are being normalized. - anon

[ In Reply To ..]
The poster above is correct in stating it has become a social construct - just as race has and look how that's turned out. There are males and females and that is all, unless a mutation such as hermaphroditism occurs. It's a trend that has caught fire. I suppose that some sensitivity should be allowed as with any mental illness? Not that I am disparaging those with mental illnesses, far from it. I, like the OP, have compassion for people who have a mental illness, but I also feel that they need treatment, not normalization.

What a messed up world this has become when - people talk about things that are

[ In Reply To ..]
complete mumbo-jumbo and yet they are discussed as truth.

When spoken about the "protected" classes", TRUTH is the new HATE SPEECH!

Best meme I have seen recently. “If sex and race are "social constructs" with no basis in reality how can you claim someone is a misogynistic racist?

I recently heard an interview with a man who had a sex change - but regreted it, has his sex changed

[ In Reply To ..]
back. He is now married. He says what the media doesn't tell you is how the majority regret it when they have the sex change. He tried to commit suicide several times.

There's no doubt that anomalies exist and I feel for these people. It's hard enough trying to find your place in the world. But it seems like "they" are trying to normalize everything today. Imagine how confusing that must be to children.

Sex/gender. Global warming/climate change. - Rain forest/jungle.

Controlling language enables you to control perception.

Compassion needed...quick - See link

If this doesn't strike compassion...well, There is a definite line in the sand I would say.

My half-baked opinion - Not confused grandmother

[ In Reply To ..]
I am aware that there are some anomalies that occur in utero; occasionally the baby gets the wrong hormone brain wash, occasionally the child is a hermaphrodite, and those children do have a difficult time working things out, and they are deserving our compassion and support.

The rest I believe, are the victims of very bad parenting, they had parents who were emotionally distant, unengaged in their children's lives, or were abusive. and overall were too clueless to help their children identify with their own sex. A child needs help working this out and understanding their sex. It is not uncommon for a small child to indicate that they are, or wish to be, the opposite sex, and every time they express this idea, they need to be told: "No you are a little boy (or girl) and Daddy and I would not want you to be one bit different than the way God made you. Then I would add, depending on what the issue is: "Of course, boys like to cook. Boys often grow up to be wonderful cooks, some of them go to school to become chefs, and they run restaurants. Just because you are a boy, does not mean you can't cook if you want to. Would you like to help Mommy in the kitchen? Little boys can do that just as well as little girls."

Those children who did not get this kind of support growing up, and have no medical issues regarding this (really quite rare) and have difficulty accepting their gender, need support and counselling not dangerous hormones and surgery.

So those of you who are young parents, follow your own instincts and don't listen to the politically correct. What they want you to do to your child is abusive. Affirm that you love them just the way they are, and the gender God (or mother nature) chose for them is just exactly right and you would not them to be one little different than they way they are. Help them to understand their sexual identity appropriately, affirm that it is perfectly all right for him/her to do whatever it is he/she wants to do even if it is commonly associated with the opposite sex (except in the matter of clothing of course.)

Of course, in my book, all young ones should be wearing sturdy playclothes for everyday; dresses and suits are for church, birthday parties, etc., in which they can enjoy wearing the pretty clothes that their gender is meant to wear -- By the way, I think it is important for little boys to have colorful "pretty" clothes for special occasions, not drab or boring, but just as bright and as cute as the dresses for little girls.

Older Women Versus Younger Women And Trump/ClintonOct 10, 2016
Women who "like" Trump are invariably older and don't like Hilary Clinton because they were raised in an era of economic competition with each for men. In the old days, men generally took care of their women, and some women lucked out with good men and some stuck it out with bad ones. Young women can take care of themselves economically so aren't as threatened by other women so they're more apt to go for HIllary. Older women also don't like Clinton because she stuck with her ...

Stereotype That Women Have More ShoesAug 04, 2010
http://www.mainstreet.com/article/sm...s&cm_ven=msIBS We’ve all heard the stereotype that women have more shoes than they know what to do with, but a new study provides some evidence for this claim. According to Glamour, the average woman will buy 469 pairs of shoes in her lifetime. All in all, she will end up spending $25,000 on shoes. So ladies, if you’re looking to cut corners, ditching the shoe addiction might be a good first step. This number comes from a survey of 3,000 ...
