Wheezing
Posted: May 29, 2017
Does anyone ever have a clicking or a wheezing sound in their throat at night. If so what can be done about it.

Nighttime - wheezing

Probably due to mouth breathing when asleep ... dry air ... try a humidifier in your room.
Yes - for years

It's like a crackling noise in the upper airway/throat when I inhale and sometimes a wheeze. I relate it to allergies and living in a dusty/hot/dry climate. I don't cough or have shortness of breath with it...just the crackling noise.

How do you stand it. Do you just eventually go to sleep.

I'm a mouth breather, always have been. There's no wheeze or any other unusual sounds.
Wheezing at night could be - Allergy to bedding

I told my doctor how I had started to wheeze lightly at night and she said something like the above. After thinking about it for a while, I realized that I had gotten a new down comforter and that was when the problem started. Gave the comforter away and the problem was solved!

I think you're right about allergies. I have terrible spring allergies and now that it's summer I don't have that funny sound anymore in my throat .
