Pope/Trump visit

Posted: May 24, 2017

Trump said he "won't forget what" the Pope said to him in their private meeting. And the Vatican put out a nice statement after their meeting saying the two leaders talked about "the promotion of peace in the world through political negotiation and interreligious dialogue" I hope world peace is what he won't forget. I hope that he will stop the incessant attacks and bombing by the U.S. In other news, Trump seems to have taken back that NATO is "obsolete" with a simple statement that it is not "obsolete" any longer. Sort of has his cart and horse mixed up, but at least he is coming up on the right end....and, no hope, of course, of him admitting that he is impetuous with his statements and judgments to begin with. ;

Boehner resigned after his meeting with the Pope - One can only hope . . . nm

The first lady visited the boy at a pediatric hospital in Rome on May 24, after she and her husband, President Donald Trump met with Pope Francis at the Vatican, reports CNN. Lunch With The PopeFeb 14, 2017
President Trump invited the Pope for lunch on his yacht, the Pope accepted and during lunch, a puff of wind blew the Pontiff's hat off, into the water. It floated off about 50 feet, then the wind died down and it just floated in place. The crew and the secret service were scrambling to launch a boat to go get it, when Trump waved them off, saying "Never mind, boys, I'll get it." The Donald climbed over the side of the yacht, walked on the water to the hat, picked it up, walke ...

Regarding Your Son's Visit....Jul 12, 2010
You are a whole lot luckier than me and my husband.  You got 3-4 hours.  I would love even that much.  Our DIL sounds so much like yours, only much, much WORSE.  Our son is riding in the same boat as your son.  I don\'t know how old your son is but ours is 35 and has 10, 7 and 2-1/2 year old children.  I thought I was alone in my agony but apparently not.  I\'m so sorry for you.  I know that feeling many times over.  It won\'t get any b ...

The Pope And Politics: Should He Or Shouldn't He?May 18, 2015
Well, since it's very quiet on the forum today, I thought I'd post something I initially read on Friday on paper in the WSJ, but I couldn't find the exact article online, so I posted the same story from my other favorite, the Washington Post:  Pope Francis and the vatican announced a treaty that recognized the Palestinian state, and he also conferred two 17th century Palestinian nuns for canonization. Even if you're not Catholic or you don't agree with him, ya gott ...

Visit With NeurosurgeonJan 17, 2012
Well yesterday I ended back up in the ER. My entire spine is numb. They did MRis and I went to see the neurosurgeon. He says it is not my neck and says I have a "central nervous system disorder" and wants me to go back to the neurologist because I have bilateral trigeminal neuralgia. I am so sick of being tossed around I don't know what to do.  Please pray that the previous neuro will see me again. I cannot take any more. Thank you. ...

Doctors VisitAug 13, 2013
My grandson had been complaining of abdominal pain for a few weeks on and off so my grandson made an appointment yesterday with a GI doc, well known in my town. We went to the appointment, I paid the $25.00 copay and it was the shortest doctors appointment I have ever been to. He walked in asked what the problem was and then said well lets schedule some tests to see what is going on. He scheduled both an EGD and colonoscopy on an 18 year old. Never touched my grandson, never felt his belly. ...

Pope Encouraging Palestinian StatehoodMay 18, 2015
Pope canonizes 2 Palestinian nuns and calls Mahmoud Abbas an "angel of peace." Really good to see the Pope furthering peace in the Middle East. Two state solution is the only possible peaceful solution. Perhaps this will further negotiations. If a reasonable approach, such as this type of recognition, had been taken with the Palestinian state situation, this issue might have been resolved by now. http://www.nbcnews.com/news/world/pope-calls-palestinian-leader-mahmoud-abbas-ange ...

I Am Glad Pope Francis Is Such A WidelySep 26, 2015
As the leader of the Roman Catholic religion he obviously has a great following and his thoughts mean "the world" to many, many people. I am glad for his ability to speak about humanity and the subjects that so desperately need to be illustrated and explained to so many in the United States. The "so many" in the United States seem to be predominantly conservatives, but not exclusively. There is plenty of corporate greed and corruption in both parties, and he spoke to the evil in that also. ...

How Pope Francis Proved To Be A CowardOct 03, 2015

Do Doctor's Visit Really Cost This Much?Sep 08, 2016
So, I'm one of those people generally don't go to the doctor unless they are spurting blood across the room, but... A couple months ago, I found a lump in my breast, so I made an appointment with a GYN. I went there, they had me leave a urine sample, he felt the lump, wrote me a referral to a breast surgeon and for a mammogram/ultrasound and told me it would definitely need to be biopsied (freaking me out some more) and that was it. I had the mammogram/ultrasound. His office call ...

No consideration for the fact that they are GUESTS and not permanent residents. From The Woman Who Had The 2 Girls VisitOct 20, 2013
I was reading the post on the Gab Board about the person asking how to get trust back in her partner. I was amazed to see that a person on here was guessing about "the one with the 2 girls for summer." Were you not ever told not to assume things? This is the person with the 2 girls for the summer, so you put it. The person writing about the trust issue is not me. I have no trust issues with anyone, certainly not my husband. I have no idea why coming on this board and asking the most simple o ...

Pope Francis Says Government Workers Have The Right To RefuseSep 28, 2015
have a "human right" to refuse to discharge a duty, such as issuing marriage licenses to homosexuals, if they feel it violates their conscience. Speaking to reporters as he returned home from a 10-day trip to the United States and Cuba, Francis also repeated his condemnation of priests who had sexually abused children, saying the victims had been "crushed by evil". Although the Argentine-born pontiff delved into some of the United States' thorniest political debates during his visit ...

This summer I am hopefully going to have some little girls come and visit, sisters, one 9 and one 11. I hope they will be visiting for about 20+ days. I am probably going to get Netflix but do not want to have them just constantly watching movies. Wow! Do You Suppose Boehner And Rubio Heard The Pope's Words?Sep 24, 2015
CNN - Pope Francis challenged America Thursday to embrace millions of undocumented immigrants and join a global campaign against climate change and poverty, wading undaunted into the nation's volatile politics in a historic address to Congress. Francis also called for a fairer world economy, the abolition of the death penalty, the protection of ethnic and religious minorities, the outlawing of the global "blood" trade in arms and the protection of the family. ...
