Tax plan

Posted: Apr 27, 2017

Hope all you billionaire Trump supporters on this board are happy with his tax plan.

;

I am. I love that he's getting rid of the marriage penalty and raising - child tax credits and personal exemptions.

You haven't seen the whole plan so how do - you know it's good?

[ In Reply To ..]
You have to wait for the whole thing to be exposed before you can like it. They are showing the parts that make you supporters happy but they are not showing the parts on what they are going to take away. Do you know what this is going to cost us as taxpayers when they can't pay for it? Are you going to slam them when our deficit grows and grows like you slammed Obama?

I wouldn't like something if I don't know the whole story. Throwing you a few crumbs might make you happy but I want to see the whole picture.

The president's plan calls for a total of two tax breaks; - one will permit parents to deduct the

[ In Reply To ..]
average cost of child care in their state, according to their child’s age. The second change will provide a tax break to people who budget out $2,000 annually to meet child care and elder care costs. The contributions will start off as tax deductible, but eventually become tax free.
You can't guess what the puzzle is by - seeing one piece.
[ In Reply To ..]
You have to wait to see the rest of it to know if it is good or not.
Like signing a bill before you can read it? - Like that? This is just a proposal.
[ In Reply To ..]
It has to go to Congress first.

Remember, this is a Trump trashing forum. Good news - doesn't go over well.

Not at all. I just want to know the whole thing - before I base an opinion

[ In Reply To ..]
Unlike you who thinks something is good just because Trump did it, I want to see things like how this is all going to be paid for.
The OP asked what people thought and then went on - to bash the proposal. I provided
[ In Reply To ..]
a link with the proposal and gave my opinion based on that.

Why do Democrats always say "how is this going to be paid for" as if all people's money is theirs to spend the way they want? Trump already said it will be paid for by the revenue from the tax cuts.

When taxes are cut economic activity grows. More hiring means more taxpayers.

Democrats know this, they just want to keep people dependent.
JFK knew this. He cut tax rates and the economy soared! - Same with Reagan.
[ In Reply To ..]
Raising taxes reduces economic activity, that includes the evil rich too.
Trump also said - Resist Trump
[ In Reply To ..]
he would repeal and replace Obamacare on day 1. He would immediately start building a wall, he would drain the swamp, etc. Yet you are still quoting him as proof that something will happen. Growth may happen with tax cuts but growth alone has never ever compensated for the amount lost by the tax cuts.

President Trump and Mnuchin might bring some Democrats - on board. I think it's pie in the sky

[ In Reply To ..]
to expect more than one or two to support his plan.

I am thrilled for changes. You would have to be - old and burned out not to be.

[ In Reply To ..]
Change from the status quo corruption in politics is good.

You are thrilled without knowing what you - are thrilled about.

[ In Reply To ..]
So we went from "status quo corruption in politics" to a corrupt businessman. What is so good about that?

You ask for an opinion, we give it, then we are trashed - for our opinion. Why did you ask then?

[ In Reply To ..]
Strange.
I didn't trash anybody. I just responded to - you nm

Corruption? - old and burned out

[ In Reply To ..]
You won't know the extent of the corruption - i.e. how much Trump is going to personally benefit from this plan unless he releases his tax returns. By eliminating the alternative minimum tax, there is one year in which he would have saved himself 30 million dollars. Probably true for his pals as well. And what happened to the concerns about the national debt? Tax cuts have NEVER stimulated the economy enough to pay for them.
Getting closer to the edge every minute.

Does doom and gloom come with old and - burned out?

[ In Reply To ..]
You really think Trump would rather make more money than his billions he already has and be considered a failure as a president?

Where at the age of 70 is he going to spend his billions of dollars in the relatively short period of time he has left on this earth? What could he possibly want more money for?

To me Trump is a man with a HUGE ego and a will to succeed. I believe he will succeed in his presidency just as he has all of his life.

Sorry for the pessimistic posters with their crystal balls hoping for Trump's failure.

Pence On Tax Plan AndApr 30, 2017
Tax plan "might increase the deficit" by trillions but it should be "short-term."  Okay, sure thing.  On ACA, "we have to get rid of the worst piece of legislation ever and replace it with something better."  Funny how it's the worst piece of legislation ever yet their plan was a disaster.  He is talking about keeping the pre-existing condition but putting them in a pool where companies can charge more for them.  Wow, I didn't watch the interview but wonder if ...

Obama's Energy PlanMar 30, 2011
In a speech Wednesday at Georgetown University, President Obama outlined his goals for reducing American energy dependence, heavily emphasizing new technology and alternative sources in addition to "safe and responsible" offshore drilling. The president pointed to rising prices at the pump, wh ...

My Thoughts On The Post About The GOP PlanNov 10, 2009
Firstly, I am *not* opposed to a GOP plan - and to be fair I don't have enough details about what it would and would not do (which I plan to remedy).  I read the following post to get more information, but much of it is opinion - or vague -and did not explain how it is better than the current bill(s) under consideration.  Let me be specific:  OP:  This is what I like about the GOP plan:Instead of govt insurance it reforms the system. 1.  How is the "Pelosi's ...

A Progressive Deficit Reduction Plan Repeal all of the 2001 and 2003 Bush tax breaks for the top two percent.  Repealing the 2001 and 2003 tax breaks for the top two percent would reduce the deficit by about $1 trillion over the next decade.  After President Clinton increased taxes on the top two percent, the economy added over 22 million jobs.  After President Bush reduced taxes for the rich, the economy lost over 600,000 private sector jobs.  Create an emergency de ...

On Another Note, Biden And McConnell's Plan Dec 31, 2012
This was before Obama's speech. BTW, according to Sen. Corker, Obama wants to pay for the sequester cuts (and have them taken out of this new legislation) with the tax increase revenue and not reduce spending cuts already agreed to and not the deficit. Again, Obama doesn't know how to add or subtract. Taking in $80 billion and spending $60 billion does not give $80 billion towards spending reduction on the debt. This story has been updated. How Democrats Plan to Cut Food Stamps Without Enraging Their Base By Meredith Shiner For Democrats especially, any talk about cutting billions from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program is uncomfortable and certain to create internal strife.
