I check here every now and then too, hoping somebody will post something to make me laugh. I know things are stressful right now. A lot of uncertainty for everybody in one way or another. That feeling of unease that just won't go away, and I'm hearing more and more people describe feeling this way. It's like we're all waiting for the other shoe to drop, but we can't lose heart or fail in courage to take on life!
Let me tell you what happened to me today. Oh my gosh! I was getting ready to start my 2nd shift in 15 minutes, had the computer all ready to go. I put my cup of ice water on the desk and what did I do? Oh yes, I knocked the glass over and it all spilled onto the keyboard - ice cubes and all, dripping all over and onto the floor. I just gasped! Oh no, no, no!! But it was too late. I just ran, grabbed a roll of paper towels and did what I could to dry the keyboard. I thought everything was alright, at first. But wouldn't you know it, the first job was a long STAT! My heart was just pounding in my ears! I don't handle mishaps like this too well and it seems like this year there have been way too many externals interrupting my work hours, so I was not going to wimp out and call off work. I just wasn't having it. I plowed through the next 3 hours with all kinds of windows opening left and right every time I'd type certain letters. I think something went haywire in the keyboard, using certain keys as shortcuts or something, I don't know. Needless to say, my line count took a major dump having to clear out all those windows and my BP probably went in the opposite direction, but I made it! Afterwards, ran over and got a new keyboard - thank you God the store had the very same model. A miracle...

just shows - how busy we are making lines
