For those of you interested in concierge medicine,

Posted: Mar 30, 2017

ObamaCare. Working directly with his patients and cutting out the insurance and government bureaucrats, lowers costs for the patients and increases the quality of care they receive. This shows how free market solutions can cut healthcare costs. This is the way out of the healthcare trap, and ironically it's being driven by doctors themselves who want to be doctors rather than insurance administrators. So-called "concierge medicine" is available in most areas and the number of doctors who "opt out" of the rigged system seems to grow each year. Money quote: "If you had insurance for gas they'd tell you how often you could fill up, what gas stations you could use, and you'd need pre-approval to take a trip out of town." That's basically our insurance-based and government run "healthcare" system today. I recently read a current article this and there was a list of costs for common RX’s that were unbelievably cheap. This article claimed there were approximately 600 doctors nationwide that were operating like this. There are hospitals like the one in Oklahoma City that don’t take insurance, whose procedures cost a fraction of what we pay in traditional hospitals. If you had a healthcare savings account, chances are you could afford many hospital procedures just using that. Or just buy a major-medical policy to insure against catastrophic illness. The way we use insurance now is simply paying someone to pay our bills for us, and it’s very expensive. Obamacare just added another layer of middlemen to the equation. Just imaging going to a doctor who is treating you like a customer, not just trying to satisfy some insurance company’s requirements. ;

Driven by doctors who want $$$ - For little to nothing

Membership fees are out of this world. Elite healthcare...you have got to be kidding me. This is a 1% concept in motion. AMA should make pro bono work mandatory.

Has Anyone Ever Taken A Homeopathic Medicine For Depression?Apr 14, 2011
I've tried several of the traditional medications for depression - Prozac, Effexor, and Zoloft.  They work for a while, I had some side effects, but then they stopped working and the depression came back every time.  I've heard more cons than pros about St. John's Wort, so I'm not sure I want to go that route, but would like to hear from anyone else who has tried the homeopathic route and got good results (or bad, so I know what to stay away from!) Thank ...

Limbaugh Unwittingly Praises Socialized Medicine, AgainMar 10, 2010
By Stephen C. WebsterTuesday, March 9th, 2010 -- 10:38 pm Right-wing radio talker Rush Limbaugh must be confused. During a recent broadcast, he vowed to "go to Costa Rica" if President Obama is successful in passing his health reform legislation. Most assumed he meant the statement in the vein of his promise to leave New York City over its tax rates, which he did. Now Limbaugh is saying he will not leave the U.S., as in, move away. Instead, Limbaugh claims that he will simply "go to Costa Rica ...

Ronald Reagan Speaks Out Against Socialized MedicineJul 30, 2013
Happy 48th birthday to Medicare.  Ronald Reagan and the right wing tried to kill Medicare before it was signed, sealed, and delivered on July 30, 1965, by calling it socialized medicine and the end of America as we know it. Quoting Reagan: “[I]f you don’t [stop Medicare] and I don’t do it, one of these days you and I are going to spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children what it once was like in America when men were free.” Quoti ...

Union Mocks Limbaugh's New Found 'love' Of Socialized MedicineJan 05, 2010
By Stephen C. WebsterMonday, January 4th, 2010 -- 8:24 pm When right-wing talker Rush Limbaugh praised the U.S. health care system as "just dandy" based on his experiences in a Hawaii hospital, chances are he didn't quite know his words were diametrically opposed to his politics. "The treatment I received here was the best that the world has to offer," he said of services rendered at Queen's Medical Center in Honolulu. Hawaii, however, is the closest thing the United States has to s ...

Court Documents Reveal Palin's Grandson Uses Socialized Medicine.Feb 23, 2010
By Stephen C. WebsterMonday, February 22nd, 2010 -- 9:47 pm For someone who once generated a national hysteria by claiming socialized medicine would bring about government-run "death panels" that would kill the elderly and children with mental defects, Sarah Palin seems remarkably calm, what with her grandson now facing the very same allegedly tyrannical construct, that is. Yes, that's right: Sarah Palin, Alaska's former governor and a millionaire thanks to sales of her book, has a g ...

Starting a new thread because the old one is too hard to follow any more. You've got me doing more googling than I ever intended but that is a good thing.  Total cost of health care in this country was up to 2.3 trillion a couple of years ago and undoubtedly higher now.  Frivolous law suits accounted for only 1 to 1.5% of the costs and unnecessary tests an even smaller percentage at 6.8 billion.  I couldn't copy the link but if you google frivolous lawsuits health care ...

Don't know if any of you have ever watched the "Morning Meeting" with Dylan Rattigan on MSNBC (9:00 a.m. Eastern time), but I would highly suggest watching it.  He is very angry about what's going on in the economy (from banks "too big to fail" to the "public option"), but instead of bashing Obama, he refers to the culprit as "the government," since we all know when this really started and how many administrations are really involved.  Rattigan used to be on CNBC but is now o ...
