Interview this morning on NPR

Posted: Mar 21, 2017

confirms that Trump supporters don't care about the Russian connections, the conflicts of interest, the money the Trumps cost the taxpayer, the abuse of women, the crude and vulgar language, etc.  Apparently the only thing that will turn Trump supporters against him is if, in a few years, he has not brought back jobs and fulfilled a few of his other promises.  I hope we don't have to wait 2 or 3 years and that our country survives if we do.

Non sequitur - Resist Trump

Huh?

That's where I go when I want objective analysis & reporting - NPR

While trying to cut the deficit, Trump has proposed cutting NPR - so I suspect this fake story has

[ In Reply To ..]
something to do with painting Trump supporters in a bad light.

The Left has many billionaires who could afford to pay $400 million per year to keep both PBS and NPR running. Let them pay for it, not the American taxpayer.

NRP and PBS earn a large amount of money from advertisers, donations, royalties from Netlix, etc. Let them compete like the rest.

These organizations can get along without the financial advantages we taxpayers have given them. those of us who support Trump and pay taxes to fund NPR that run fake stories like this are tired of it. Like when NPR blamed us for the Jewish cemetery thing. No proof whatsoever.

NPR is also attacking Neil Gorsuch. This is a govt funded - entity. Should tax dollars be used this

[ In Reply To ..]
way?

"Attacking"? Or simply good journalism - finding the objective truth?

[ In Reply To ..]
Despite what Trump and followers think, there IS such a thing as objective truth and that used to be what a journalist was required to find, no matter who got hurt by that.

Every SCOTUS candidate has a background and a history that needs to be thoroughly evaluated.

Finding out that Gorsuch believes pregnant women "manipulate" maternity leave is abhorrent, but don't kill the messenger. Many many news outlets reported this, because it is true and Gorsuch said it and is on the record.

Yeah, tax dollars should be used this way. Would you rather they go to Fox and Friends, Trumpy's favorite show? It is about the epitome of willful ignorance and fluff, no news on there at all except what Trumpy wants.
Fox and Friend's is funded by advertising. NPR is in - part funded by gvt tax dollars.
[ In Reply To ..]
What if your tax dollars were used to smear Obama on NPR?
Again, NPR is doing what is called reporting - Not "smearing"
[ In Reply To ..]
If it's the truth, how is that "smearing"? I guess if the truth is something Trumpy et al don't want to hear, they call it a smear, but the truth is the truth.

If Obama were "smeared" on NPR, it would only be because he did something reprehensible, like Trump does every moment of every day I'm afraid. If that were the case, I would gladly read their reporting and not demand for them to be shut down.

NPR had a documentary on the Koch Bros they were forced to hold back, because the Koch Bros don't like the truth either.

Not smearing, truthing.

Does it ever get tiring - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
saying "fake news" over and over? I mean does the rhetoric ever get old to the right? Just curious. If the right had their way, we'd have nothing to read or watch, unless it's something they like to hear, then all of a sudden * POOF * suddenly it's not fake anymore. So intriguing how that works, doncha think?

Funding for NPR - old and burned out

[ In Reply To ..]
was cut a long time ago and this interview was not trying to paint Trump supporters in a bad light; they were simply trying to explain why they support Trump, what is important to them and how they feel. The people they interviewed were not the lunatic fringe but average people who voted for Trump mainly because they want the economy to change and want their jobs back. They are willing to overlook all of Trump's faults if he can accomplish this.

The only thing that irked me was that O stated he was down there before the media was even paying attention to the Gulf spill. If I remember correctly, they were down there but O wasn't.  Plenty of media talked about him not 'jumping on this disaster. If he was there, why didn't the media see him? What's Your Morning MO?Feb 23, 2010
I'm just curious about how many of us working at home have the same routine. I get up in the morning and immediately heat up bottled water for coffee (I use a French press which makes a really perfect cup of coffee), then hop in the shower.  After that, I make my coffee and drink it while taking about 10 minutes to put on my mineral makeup (so much faster than the other kind of makeup), eyeliner, lip liner and lip gloss.  I then blow dry my hair, get dressed, make a second cup of ...

Interview Pointers Anyone? Nov 30, 2011
I'm so nervous.  I have an initial phone interview tomorrow for a job that I did over 10 years ago, which is not MT.  When I had this position previously, I worked my way up through the company; now they would prefer a Bachelor's degree which I don't have.  I don't want to make a fool of myself answering their interview questions and I don't want to sound like a robot giving the typical answers that you know they are looking for.  I've been out o ...

Up For A Job Interview In A Few Days - Sm Nov 13, 2012
Anyone have any suggestions how to interview well.  I just suck at interviews.  I look great on paper but I think I either tend to be too jokey or too serious/scared/timid.  Any ideas how to get a happy balance and not come off a total idiot?  I have not had an in-person interview in about 3 years.  Need to get out of MT, job is being outsourced soon and need to get out.  Any suggestions/advice is appreciated.  TIA. ...

I Heard On The TV This MorningMar 01, 2011
that union members in WI are passing around a flyer with names of businesses who supposedly contributed to Walker and calling for a boycott of those businesses.  My problem with this is that employers are the ones who hire employees who pay taxes who fund unions.  Isn't that kinda like shooting themselves in the foot?  Plus, do teachers not realize that some of the businesses they want to boycott may employ a parent of one of their students...but they are doing all this for t ...

My Son Is Nauseous Every Morning.Aug 23, 2011
My son is almost 18 and is a senior in high school.  This started back in June.  He just started back to school yesterday and it is breaking my heart seeing him ill every morning especially since now he is in school again.  No matter what time he gets up, he feels sick to his stomach.  He usually starts to feel better around noon. I drove him to school yesterday and he was gagging in the car.  I expected him to call me during the day, but he didn't.  When he g ...

Well, That Meeting Went Well This Morning.Mar 01, 2013
Obama didn't get his way since the important sequester meeting was only about 1 HOUR LONG.  Yes, he really is looking out for the people -- NOT-- or else they'd still be meeting and negotiating.  Sequester stands. He's not "wasting any more time" (my words, not his) since the sequester was "just dumb and arbitrary" (his words, not mine).  So, Mr. President, if it's so dumb, why did you suggest it in the first place????? OBAMA-O'REILLY INTERVIEWFeb 02, 2014
After watching that interview, I can only say Bill O'Reilly and FOX must be feeling pretty darn good right about now. To think that they hold such sway over America and her people. That's quite the accomplishment! At the same time, it's an elitist insult to Americans. To think that we can't make up our own minds and need FOX news to do it for us. That disgusts me.
