Donald Trump promised his followers that we would have better health care insurance that would cover more people, have more options and cost less. Now he says he didn't know health care could be so complicated. Duh! What we are being offered rewards the rich, hurts the very poor and takes money from the Medicare Trust Fund. Are all you Trump voters happy with this?

I don't see how anybody - could be for this

The very poor will not be able to afford health care and will die off in large numbers therefore reducing the number of Democratic voters!

the word "Republicans" for the word "you." When you take health care away from the poor, they die. I don't want it to happen and it won't be my fault; it will be the fault of the Republican health care plan. It is estimated that 2 to 4 million people will lose their insurance if the plan goes through as is. Do you even know what happens to people when they don't have insurance? They wait until they are deathly ill and then go to an emergency room when it is often too late. You can keep on blaming the messenger but I'm just telling you how it is and how it has always been.

RINOs in the House. At least this started in the House like constitutionally it is supposed to, not in the Senate like Obama's unconstitutional bill did. That's about the only good thing I can say about it.

Call it Ryancare, Rinocare, or Obamacare lite. I hope it's DOA.

Too many people are dependent on the govt's tentacles, which was the plan.
It's just a tweaking of Obamacare. I'm glad they are getting rid of - at least part of the penalty.

Otherwise, I wish Ryan would go away.

Chaffetz made a comment about having to give up in iPhone to pay for it. But Obama did the same thing telling some guy to give up his cable in or to be able to afford his monthly premium. The press sure conveniently forgets that.
I read that much of this procedure is driven by the desire to repeal - Obamacare as a technical

matter by the means through which it was passed — the “reconciliation” process. That avoids the possibility of a Senate filibuster by Democrats, but also limits what can be done.

Unfortunately it looks like the federal govt will still drive health care, not the free market.

What troubles me is they’re telling insurers they can charge 33% more to someone who doesn’t have insurance for 62 or 63 days (the penalty).

I’m also sick and tired of the HSA thing. In comparison, if you don’t have an HSA, you can’t deduct a single medical expense until it’s over 7.5% of your adjusted gross income under their proposal. Obamacare was worse at 10%. If we are trying to encourage patients to spend their own money, and not filter it through insurance bureaucrats first, we should let people deduct every dollar.

I could just go on and on.. . . . . but the deductible part just kills me.
Here's the White House press briefing on the three - phases of repeal/replace.

Spicer and Price went into detail why at the presser today. People need to pay attention before they go off half cocked.

You know the leftist press is at the gate ready to oppose anything, so just listen to Spicer.

I also saw Trump highly praise the plan. Maybe the president needs to read the document before going off half-cocked and praising the plan. This plan is bad in a lot of ways. It is, however, a republican plan, which Trump is a republican (at least he says he is). So, republicans that voted for Trump are getting what the republicans do, screw the American citizens while helping the wealthy. Did you feel Trump was really going to change the way republicans do business? Did you really believe Trump was going to be our savior? The pubs hate him but they are supporting him to get their agenda through, which is and always has been up for the wealthy, down for the poor.
I agree with Louie Gohmert. This bill is an insurance - lobby bill. Obamacare is health insurance, not

health care.

No way we should re-surrender national health care to the insurance companies. They enjoy state-centric monopolies.

Make the insurance companies compete with each other, lift the state line restriction. This is what the free market does. The more people competing, the lower the prices.

If not, the GOP will become a joke. So will president Trump.

I don't think you'll find we all have a hive mind like - Obama voters. It took me all night

or what the MSM "regurgitated." Tell me where it is going to give everybody insurance as Trump promised, help the needy and not help the wealthy.

AARP wrote a letter to congress - opposing TrumpCare

[ In Reply To ..]
Any Trump/Republican supporters care to take this one on? It sounds absolutely horrible and people of the age group 50-64 and income under $25,000 (unless I'm mistaken, most of the MT community!) will be expected to pay much more. Isn't that great?

From the letter:

"We estimate that the bill’s changes to current law’s tax credits could increase premium costs for a 55-year old earning $25,000 by more than $2,300 a year. For a 64-year-old earning $25,000 that increase rises to more than $4,400 a year, and more than $5,800 for a 64-year-old earning $15,000.

When we examined the impact of both the tax credit changes and 5:1 age rating, our estimates find that, taken
together, premiums for older adults could increase by as much as $3,600 for a 55-year old earning $25,000 a year, $7,000 for a 64-year old earning $25,000 a year and up to $8,400 for a 64-year old earning $15,000 a year.

In addition to these skyrocketing premiums, out-of-pocket costs could significantly increase under the bill with the elimination of cost sharing assistance in current law. The cost sharing assistance has provided relief on out-of-pocket costs (like deductibles and certain benefits) for low-income individuals who are some of the most financially vulnerable marketplace
participants."

So great, why not hit weak, sick, old people with more costs, that makes sense, right? And the rest of the letter is full of more bad news. Hoo boy.

They look to be wanting to make socialized security even more socialized.

I joined AMAC instead.

One has to wonder why AARP is for Obamacare, which - slashed $716 billion from Medicare and

stripped seniors of choice. Answer: Pure ideology. I saw an article in their magazine once written by the left-wing Center for American Progress (a George Soros baby).

I also saw Angela Davis in their magazine, you know, the leader in the Communist Party USA who ran for vice-president on their ticket in the 80s. She had close ties with the Black Panther Party and Black Power politics and was on the FBI's Most Wanted list after fleeing an arrest.

AARP - what a laugh.

AARP fought to gut Medicare Advantage because - they stand to gain millions in

additional royalties from the insurance it sells.

Why didn't they just tell the truth in what they were lobbying for?

AARP is all about Big Government. If you call them and ask a question, - a canned answer just pops up on their screen.

[ In Reply To ..]
Their main purpose is selling insurance, not looking out for seniors, and it generates huge profits.

They supported Obamacare so they could sell insurance.

There are other choices than AARP, such as 60 Plus - Association and AMAC.

[ In Reply To ..]
AARP’s business partner, United Health Group, which writes insurance policies for AARP, is ranked 22nd on the Fortune 500 list of companies, bringing in over $90 billion in revenues annually. As a result, AARP is becoming increasingly dependent on payments from United. In the span of three years, United’s royalty payments to AARP have grown from $284 million to $427 million, a 50 percent increase since Obamacare.
