AP files complaint over Federal wiretaps in 2013.

Posted: Mar 6, 2017

obtained records of telephone calls from more than 20 telephone lines belonging to The Associated Press and its journalists over a two-month period, in an apparent investigation of a leak of sensitive information about a terrorist plot in Yemen. The head of The Associated Press lodged a formal complaint yesterday with the Department of Justice in Washington, for what he called an "overbroad collection" of telephone records of the wire service's reporters and editors. The unusual monitoring of journalists' communications appeared to be part of a widening government investigation into information released about a foreign terror attack plot last year. ;

I watched Hannity the other night and was totally disgusted/appalled by the way he treated and talked to a guest.  I did not agree with the guest at all but SH called him stupid, sick and twisted, and an SOB, etc, etc.  He was very childish and insulting, and I was mortified he would talk like that and call them names to someone that he invited onto his show.  I was pretty ticked.  I think as the host of a political commentary show you just don't do that to a guest no ma ...

Administration Sets Record For Withholding Government FilesMar 18, 2015
The Obama administration set a record again for censoring government files or outright denying access to them last year under the U.S. Freedom of Information Act, according to a new analysis of federal data by The Associated Press. The government took longer to turn over files when it provided any, said more regularly that it couldn't find documents and refused a record number of times to turn over files quickly that might be especially newsworthy. It also acknowledged in nearly 1 in 3 ...

building sports stadiums says President Obama in his new budget proposal. President Obama’s most recent budget proposal takes aim at a tax exemption that has helped drive an explosion in publicly-financed sports facilities across the United States, a move that would end federal taxpayers’ role in subsidizing the construction of stadiums and arenas that often provide little economic benefit to their cities and states. As it stands now, cities and states can help pay for st ...

Is No One Noticing That The Federal Government Feb 23, 2015
Read the headlines and you'll find that there's virtually no small corner of your life that the Federal government isn't trying to exert control under this administration through an enormous body of regulations that either already have been, or will be, implemented. You like meat?  Grab it while you can, because feed lots are "harmful to the environment". You like water?  The EPA is proposing to make every drop of water on the face of the land a "waterway" over which i ...

Facebook - No State/federal TaxesFeb 17, 2013
It hasn’t drawn much attention, but Facebook’s first annual earnings report contains an accounting gem: a multibillion-dollar tax deduction for the cost of executive stock options and share awards. Even though Facebook (FB) reported $1.1 billion in pre-tax profits from U.S. operations in 2012, it will probably pay zero federal and state taxes—and even receive a federal tax refund of about $429 million—according to a Feb. 14 statement from Citizens for Tax Justice. The tax-research ...
