So sad what is going on in this country.

If you're going to post a link, kindly tell us what the website is. - Or I aint clickin on it.

For all I know it could be porn, or some even worse gosh-awful clickbait like Huffpo, NYT, the DNC or NPR radio, who will never make money off my clicks.

If it's an article, video, blog post, etc., kindly provide the title or at least the subject/topic.

Thank you.

Didja know that if you hover your mouse over a link (or long-press on a phone) the actual URL will be displayed?

Yes - and that sometimes doesn't tell you much. - Why - is this too hard??

[ In Reply To ..]
The box for the URL description is right there under the place where you paste the URL. You can't miss it.

Otherwise, that's fine. Do as you like and I won't be clicking on anything you link to.

Hover indeed.

hovering over the link clearly shows it to be for NPR.ORG which was on your list of things you won't read.

And if you're that worried about people linking to porn, or something malicious like facts you don't want to know about, why would you trust they'd put an accurate description in the box? Maybe everyone should start typing "Daisies and Ponies" in the URL description box.

How will you know which posts are here? Clairvoyant?
If you're too ashamed to reveal your source in your post - why should I waste my time with you??!!

I think you're confused. Including a URL link in the provided field is, by definition, revealing one's source.

If you're going to try to spin that as being ashamed, well, perhaps you should not waste your time with any of us, as there are clearly larger issues at play.

Yes, god forbid you should accidentally be exposed to information that doesn't fit into your predefined world view.

Well, if I think of it while posting, I will - do that

as long as you do the same.

I'm with you. - sm

I never open her links. Not worth my dime if she can't find the time to give more than a non-tantalizing clue.

Did you read my - post

[ In Reply To ..]
right above yours where I said I would try to do that?

I can say at least I post links unlike some on the right who go on a left degrading rant and accusations and provide nothing to support what they say.

If you don't want to read my posts then don't.

I am confused - about that

There are several people on here, on both right and left, who post a link without a description of where it is from and what is in it all of the time. While I agree that sometimes I hesitate to just click willy-nilly I have not found anything wrong with any of them so far. Since when did this change?

It didn't as far as I know and anybody has the option - of not reading a post

[ In Reply To ..]
if they don't want to. They also have the option of responding to it with an opinion about the article in question or not.

That's not what clickbait is - sm

Clickbait is when an outlet tries to attract click-throughs to generate revenue. They don't make money when you read one of their stories.
